David Stone is the Founder and Managing Director of Liberty Tree Advisors. In addition, he is an independent director of Seahorse Bioscience, a laboratory instrument company and was an independent director and Chairman of Oscient Pharmaceuticals, a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company. David spent seven years as a Managing Director and Partner at Flagship Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on creating, financing, and building innovative companies in the Life Science and Technology sectors. A veteran of Wall Street, David followed the Biotechnology sector for nearly ten years at Cowen & Company, where he built a highly regarded research and investment banking practice. David began his career in biotechnology in 1983 as a Project Manager and later Communications Director at Genetics Institute (now part of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals). He earned a B.S. in Microbiology from Colorado State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Anne Enna joined Beal Advisors, LLC
in January 2011 as a Managing Director. Since 2006, Anne has provided business
consulting and strategic advisory services to emerging growth companies, with an
emphasis in digital media, as well as private and public equity funds. Clients
have included eHarmony, Greycroft Partners and GRP Partners. From 2004 to 2006,
Anne was a Vice President at GCA Savvian, an investment bank where she focused
on private capital fundraising, including the initial capitalization for
Legendary Pictures. From 2001 to 2004, Anne was a venture capital portfolio
manager at Van Wagoner Capital Management, where she was responsible for a
portfolio of 18 technology and health care companies, including 3Par, CommVault
and Oblix. From 1999 to 2001, Anne held product management roles at E-Stamp and
Ariba. From 1995 to 1997, Anne was a financial Analyst at Alex. Brown and Sons.
Anne has a B.A. in History from Yale College and an M.B.A. from the Stanford
Graduate School of Business.
Georgia Erbez is a Managing Director and founder of Beal Advisors, LLC. Georgia has over 20 years experience in Investment Banking, and has focused on providing a broad array of investment banking services solely to life sciences companies for over 12 years. Georgia has experience across a broad array of transactions, including IPOs, follow-ons, PIPEs, convertible debt and merger and acquisition advisory services. From 2005 to 2008, Georgia was a Senior Vice President in the life sciences investment banking group at Jefferies & Co. From 1998 to 2002 she was with the health care investment banking group at Cowen and Co., most recently as Director. From 1997 to 1998, Georgia was an Associate with the investment banking group at Hambrecht & Quist and focused on health care services and life sciences companies. Georgia began her Investment Banking career in 1989 with the investment banking group at Alex. Brown & Sons where she focused on life sciences, medical technology and health care services companies. Georgia has completed over 65 financing and merger transactions in the health care industry valued at over $6.3 billion. She received her B.A. in International Relations with an emphasis in Economics from the University of California at Davis in 1989.
Joyce Lonergan founded the Pine Cone Company to provide life science corporate development and investor relations consulting services to emerging public and private biopharmaceutical companies in the US and EU. From 2005 to 2008, she was Managing Partner and President of SR One, the healthcare venture fund of GlaxoSmithKline. From 2004 to 2005, Joyce was a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Caxton Healthcare Venture Management, LLC, a venture fund created in partnership with Caxton Associates. Joyce was Vice President Corporate Development, Corporate Communications/Investor Relations at Chiron Corporation from 1999 to 2004, where she worked on numerous M&A transactions. At Vector Fund Management from 1997 to 1999, Joyce was Director and Operating Partner of Fund II, and led or co-led investments in both private and public companies. She was a Director and Biotechnology Analyst at Cowen & Company from 1991 to 1997. Joyce worked at Repligen Corporation as a Business Development Analyst from 1988 to 1991 and at Tufts New England Medical Center as a Senior Research Technician from 1984 to 1988. She earned an MBA from Simmons College and a BS in Biology from Emmanuel College.
Dan Petree is Co-Founder of P2 Partners. Dan has over 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, serving in a variety of roles including investment banker, senior operating manager and corporate/securities lawyer. Before co-founding P2 Partners in January 2000 with Monte Pitt, Dan was President and Chief Operating Officer of Axys Pharmaceuticals, a structure-based drug design company in South San Francisco. He also held successive positions at Axys as Executive Vice President of Business Development and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Axys, Dan was Vice President of Business Development at TSI Corporation, a clinical research organization in Worcester, MA, with an M&A-roll up strategy. Dan's operating management experience was preceded by five years in investment banking at Montgomery Securities, most recently as Vice President in the Health Care Group. Dan, who spent part of his childhood in Japan and speaks Japanese, also served as Montgomery Securities' Japanese Fund Manager and Director of Pacific Rim Investments. Dan's career began in the practice of law. He was a corporate and securities lawyer with Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe in Palo Alto, CA. Dan is a director of Biocept, Cypress Bioscience, Lpath and Sutro Biopharma.
Monte Pitt is Co-Founder of P2 Partners. Monte has focused on financial advisory services for most of the last 25 years in various roles for the Life Sciences Industry, including investment banker, biotechnology securities analyst, senior operating manager and research scientist. Before co-founding P2 Partners in January 2000 with Dan Petree, Monte was President of M.W. Pitt Associates, a financial advisory services business that he founded. Monte's investment banking and securities analyst experience includes Vice President positions, most recently at Musket Research Associates, preceded by Cowen & Company where he was also a Special Limited Partner, Shearson Lehman Brothers and Duff & Phelps. Monte also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of TSI Corporation and began his career as a research scientist for Abbott Laboratories and Genentech.
